Well....! This is going to be really awful concept. But I thought why not share something awful and radical believes sometimes.
Sha-nying-jay Chen gi-za (ཤ་སྙིང་རྗེ་ཅན་གྱིས་བཟའ) a a Bhutanese phrase, often used by the meat eaters in Bhutan is translated as "the compassionates eat meat."
Which in its own essence means that the meat can be eaten only by those who are compassionate or those who have attained the compassionate realm.
Which in its own essence means that the meat can be eaten only by those who are compassionate or those who have attained the compassionate realm.
But we Bhutanese meat lovers trend to use this phrase to proclaim and consider self a compassionate one....! If this is the case, all dogs, cats and wild beasts could be compassionate living creatures. Well I should confess I am one of these folks lolz.
One can not proclaim to be a compassionate because one can not be compassionate unless one is compassionate.
Why can compassionate eat meat? well I suppose it does not mean that compassionate should eat meat but it means the compassionate can eat or feast on it. Well again the question is why?
Here comes my concept and understanding of the phrase. In buddhist philosophy those awakened by the phases of sufferings where four noble truths are realized in depth and enlightened with the facts of interdependence are supposed to be the compassionate ones.
one might not believe in natural realistic powers, which I mean the powers of realization. How lord buddha could subdue evils without even throwing a pellet. It is hard to explain, if one is a none believer. So considering you (reader) as a believer, let me get to my point.
Compassionates are suppose to be the realized one that are at certain level of attainment, which in sanskrit is termed as Bodhisattva. If a meat is being served for them, as soon as they see the meat in their plate they can relate their compassionate wisdom with the soul of the meat. They have that wisdom like the scientists who can calculate on their formula to ultimately relate their dedications of all good to the soul of the meat that will act as a cause for the betterment of the once tortured soul of the particular meat.
There fore slaughtering can not be stopped, but if a slaughtered meat happens to reach the plates of such compassionate one, it is indeed the soul of that body is fortunate. The soul receives the dedication and prayers (ngowa-menlam: སྔོ་བ་སྨོན་ལམ) of the compassionate which is beyond just dedication and prayer as in the word.
The body is just a substance after the soul has left. Even if it is being eaten then has no feeling just like any other sense less substances. But eating meat is restricted by Buddhist principle of harmless nature. It is just as simple as you understand. It encourages slaughtering business taking lives of innocent creature and to treat them like vegetable in the garden.
Therefore some compassionates eat meat if offered while some do not, to encourage others not to eat. Those who eat considers the soul of the already killed but an ordinary man that sees meat with the eye of attachment, desire and greed can not relate the meat in their plate like one who has realized the reality of the state of meat.
Therefore the phrase does not at all mean that meat eaters are compassionate but meats can be eaten by the compassionate.
That means one can not just proclaim as compassionate in the interest of eating meat. But it is universal right in the human domain for one as a human to decide whether to eat or not to eat, but there is no leader in the animal kingdom to protect their right. So we are at our own to decide to feast on their flesh. If one loves feasting on meat it is your right.
I do not here at all intend to tell you not to eat meat. Its you as human, your right to decide...! It is not at all about describing right and wrong..! Its just my terrible concept of spirituality on eating meat and not to eat meat, period....! :)
